The Q6 e-tron’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Lyriq doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

With its standard Active Front Assist, the Audi Q6 e-tron is better at preventing collisions with pedestrians than the Cadillac Lyriq, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety:

The Q6 e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Q6 e-tron. But it costs extra on the Lyriq.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The Q6 e-tron has Car-to-X Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the Q6 e-tron and the Lyriq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Audi Q6 e-tron has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2026 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test, and a “Good” score in the revised vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention test. The Lyriq is not even a standard “Top Safety Pick” for 2026.

The Q6 e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Lyriq’s (12 vs. 6 years).

Audi pays for scheduled maintenance on the Q6 e-tron for 3 years and 30,000 miles. Audi will pay for cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 1 visits). Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Lyriq.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Audi 5 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The Q6 e-tron has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Lyriq doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

The Q6 e-tron Prestige/SQ6 has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Q6 e-tron’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The SQ6 e-tron Prestige handles at .91 G’s, while the Lyriq Luxury AWD pulls only .79 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The SQ6 e-tron Prestige executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.7 seconds quicker than the Lyriq Luxury AWD (24.7 seconds @ .8 average G’s vs. 26.4 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

The Audi Q6 e-tron may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 550 pounds less than the Cadillac Lyriq.

The Q6 e-tron is 8.9 inches shorter than the Lyriq, making the Q6 e-tron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q6 e-tron has a much larger cargo volume than the Lyriq with its rear seat up (30.2 vs. 28 cubic feet).

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Q6 e-tron to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for vehicle inspections, vehicle inspection based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Cadillac doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Lyriq.

The Q6 e-tron (except Premium) offers an available heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

If the windows are left open on the Q6 e-tron the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Lyriq can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q6 e-tron to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Lyriq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Q6 e-tron has a standard rear wiper. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conducts detailed tests on headlights for their range both straight ahead and in curves and to be certain they don’t exceed acceptable amounts of glare to oncoming drivers. The Q6 e-tron’s headlights were rated “Good” by the IIHS, while the Lyriq’s headlights are rated “Poor.”

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q6 e-tron SQ6/Prestige has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Lyriq doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Lyriq’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Q6 e-tron’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Q6 e-tron to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Lyriq doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.
